  • A very generous and tasty meal! I went with the three cups chicken and devoured it. The soup and cabbage side accompanied the main dish very well. A welcoming atmosphere for both locals and tourists. Wheelchair friendly. Cash-only and they ask for payment upfront.

  • Tucked in an actual alley, Red Alley Bistro is a hidden gem. The lady running the place speaks a little english but her kind and welcoming gesture makes you feel instantly comfortable. Note that you’ll need to pay when placing your order. I tried the Taiwanese salty pork and sweet and sour diced chicken—both were absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors that hit the spot. The passion fruit green tea is a standout and an absolute must-try, perfectly balancing sweetness and refreshing flavors.

  • Hidden gem in the alley own by a humble lady. She tried her best to accommodate us although one group reserve the spot but did not turn up for more then 10 minutes. They came 15 minutes after we sat down. Their signature dishes is good. We order chicken, beef and pork. I would think their pork and beef dishes are the best. Do not forget to add egg for TWD30. Worth it to eat with their food. Please do not reserve your spot if you came late. Space are limited, but they are nice to reserve, hoping you will arrive

  • One of the best meals I had in Taiwan (if not the best). The lady who owned the place was very warm and she even gave us a small figurine as a souvenir. The salty pork was tender and very tasty with just the perfect blend of the usual taiwanese spices. The side dishes were also delightful. The beef with pepper was also good and also tender. Came with side dishes too. Overall I highly recommend this place.

  • A cute little bistro in an alley way. I recommend making a reservation (I did via IG) as the place is quite small. Food was out of this world. Extremely comforting, homecooked food. Both food and drink portions are very generous. The owner is so friendly and gifted my friends and I little souvenirs.

  • Nestled in one of Taipei’s quieter alleys, Red Alley Bistro offers a refreshing blend of urban chic and cozy charm. The ambiance strikes a balance between modern minimalism and warm hospitality—perfect for a relaxed dinner or a casual date night. The food is thoughtfully plated and mostly hits the mark. The Taiwanese-inspired duck confit was tender and aromatic, with a subtle five-spice glaze that nodded to local flavors without overpowering. Their roasted vegetable tart, while beautifully presented, could use a touch more seasoning to bring out its earthy sweetness. The standout was the lemongrass panna cotta—delicate, fragrant, and a clever fusion of East and West. Beverage options are well-curated, with a small but smart wine list and a few locally inspired cocktails. The plum-infused gin spritz was a pleasant surprise—light, tart, and perfect for humid evenings. Service was attentive and gracious, though slightly stretched during peak hours. Staff were knowledgeable and eager to recommend pairings, which added a personal touch to the experience. Overall, Red Alley Bistro earns a solid four stars. It’s a place that respects local ingredients while experimenting with global techniques. A few tweaks in seasoning and pacing could elevate it further, but it’s already a gem worth revisiting.

  • Sep 2025: Went here based on the many positive reviews. Indeed, they're justified. Food was really good despite the cramped interiors. The owner also does give you a small toy as token.
